Preparation and Characterization of Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticles and Its Application for Photocatalytic Removal of Rhodamine B and Methylene Blue Dyes

In this research work, MgO nanoparticles were synthesized by a single-step coprecipitation approach using Kappaphycus alvarezii extract as stabilizer. The exhibit cubic crystal structure, which confirmed XRD and FTIR. purity of nanomaterials was P-XRD. diffraction crests are in accordance with customary patterns pure (JCPDS No.00–004-0821). Electron microscopic analysis demonstrated the appearance nanoflakes. UV-DRS used to calculate optical band gap found be 4.71 eV. have substantial photocatalytic activity for deterioration rhodamine B (RhB) methylene blue (MB) dyes under visible light irradiation. experimental data fitted first-order kinetics around >95% degeneration both achieved photocatalysis nanoparticles. Thus, obtained from can effectively utilized large-scale industrial applications during wastewater treatments.
